Monkey in the Mirror

Monkey in the Mirror

Just like chimps in the trees
we bicker back and forth
with senseless words, meaning nothing to us.
Why do we think that what we say
will change anything.

So connected to the world, or so we thought.
We tend to forget the main internal goal
of this surrealistic world we have made  for ourselves.

...come  on, why do we feel that we are so smart,
our voice can spread disease and famine of a
non-educating intelect.

With our eyes sewn shut with the threads of money
you can only see sucess in the silk woven papers of green
and your notes of communcation come out in dollar signs.
If you don’t have that wad of cash in your hand you feel as
worthless as the lint in youir pocket.

Always running two steps behind the world of happenines
you laugh at the less fortuneate,
thinking, you are glad you are rich.
Your conceite runs away your family and friends
you start to lose sight of your goals
and one day you look in in the mirror,
and realize the monkey looking back from the glass, is you.
